Small Town Beginnings and Academic Pursuits
I grew up in Tillsonburg, Ontario, a small town known for its tobacco farms. Living in this close-knit agricultural community taught me the importance of hard work, perseverance, and building meaningful personal relationships. These early experiences instilled in me a sense of responsibility and a commitment to doing my best in everything I undertake.
In 2003, after finishing high school, I decided to pursue the Court and Tribunal Agent program at Humber College, which is part of the Business School, which I completed with Honours. This program gave me a solid understanding of legal procedures and the skills needed to navigate clients, and court and tribunal settings. My time at Humber was marked by a strong desire to learn and make a positive impact in my chosen field.
Early Career in Legal Services
My professional career began at the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal, where I spent 15 years working in pre-hearing processes of worker’s compensation appeals. This role was instrumental in developing my communication and conflict resolution skills. I became experienced and good at facilitated productive discussions. My organizational skills were tested and strengthened as I managed numerous case files, ensuring each one was prepared for hearings.
During my time at the Tribunal, I worked hard to ensure fairness and remained calm under pressure. These qualities helped me build strong relationships with colleagues and clients. My role at the Tribunal was more than just a job; it was a chance to make a positive difference in the lives of people dealing with workplace safety and insurance issues.
Evolving at Sosna Inc.
In 2022, I joined Sosna, a renovation company known for its commitment to excellence and innovation. Initially, I assisted the Office Manager, a role that allowed me to apply my organizational skills and streamline office operations. My attention to detail and proactive approach quickly caught the attention of the leadership team.
Within a few months, I was given the opportunity to step into the role of Office Manager. This promotion was a recognition of my efforts and my ability to adapt to new challenges. As the Office Manager, I found myself in a role that aligned perfectly with my passion for organization and my desire to work closely with a talented team.
In this role, I truly feel at home professionally. I'm constantly challenged and learning every day, all while being surrounded by a strong and supportive team.
Feeling at Home with Sosna
As the Office Manager at Sosna, I have thrived in an environment that values collaboration and innovation. My daily responsibilities include overseeing office operations, preparing materials to be used by the team on site, and to provide to clients after their renovations are complete, and ensuring that the office runs smoothly and efficiently. I take pride in creating a welcoming and productive workspace for my colleagues, fostering a positive and supportive atmosphere.
My role at Sosna goes beyond traditional office management. I am involved in strategic planning and play a part in implementing initiatives that enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the company. My ability to anticipate the needs of the team and address potential challenges has been instrumental in driving the team’s success.
Passions and Family
Outside of work, I enjoy a fulfilling personal life in Markham, Ontario. I live with my loving husband, daughter, and our loyal dog. Family is at the heart of my life, and I cherish the time spent with my loved ones. Whether it’s enjoying a cozy evening at home or going on a weekend adventure, I value the moments that bring us closer together.
I am also an avid outdoors enthusiast and enjoy camping in my spare time. The tranquility of nature provides me with a much-needed escape from the demands of my professional life, allowing me to recharge and find inspiration. Additionally, I have a passion for cooking and love experimenting with new recipes to create delicious meals for my family and friends.
