The Chimbos, a couple in their early 50’s with 2 adult sons living at home, had been living in their dated home for more than 30 years when they approached us to talk about their dreams for a new expanded kitchen layout. The Chimbos enjoy cooking and hosting gatherings but their Kitchen with very limited countertop and storage was cramped and didn’t serve them well. Over the years, their cabinets had fallen apart and had become discoloured. The original dark wall paint and wallpaper still installed since they moved in gave their Main Floor a heavy and dim ambiance.

With careful planning and a thorough investigation, we demolished the wall separating the Kitchen from the adjacent Dining Room creating a free-flowing space ideal for their daily routine and for entertaining guests. The new all-white Kitchen is custom-designed with a bar-height peninsula where this family can now enjoy meals together every day; the bigger and brighter Kitchen now has more storage, countertop space for food preparation and we were able to accommodate a breakfast station equipped with their coffee machine and small appliances. New quartz countertops and backsplash, matte black hardware and fixtures completed the Kitchen. New vinyl flooring and fresh paint throughout the Main and Second Floors unified the Transitional look of their home.

The Chimbos now enjoy a brighter and bigger Kitchen every day and cannot wait to share it with their family and friends!
