Kleinburg Multiple Bathroom Renovation for Returning Sosna Clients
We love it when our clients return again and again, giving us a chance to work on a familiar structure and further improve it. This was true for our long-time clients from Kleinburg, for whom we had previously completed a Kitchen Renovation for, returned with a request to transform their bathrooms. They’re a middle-aged couple that needed spaces that served as serene and stylish retreats. The spaces they had were serviceable, but they didn’t prioritize their comfort or accurately reflect their current lifestyle. They also wanted to wow guests with the shared Bathroom. The ensuite was showing its age and no longer met their needs, making it prime for an update as well.
Here at Sosna, we’re dedicated to creating interior designs that meet all of our clients’ goals. This was true with this multiple bathroom renovation project. It was a priority to restore their use of the bathrooms with minimal disruption, but it also helped that we worked on one room at a time so they continued to have use of the other. It’s details like these that can make all the difference in planning a successful home renovation. These clients had already worked with us on other major home renovations, so they knew they could trust us to respect their home and work closely with them to create a final design they would love.

Embracing the Ensuite with a Major Transformation
We started the project with a focus on the ensuite since it was the space our clients used the most. The goal was to create a bathroom sanctuary that was open, airy, and had a much more modern appearance. The ensuite needed a major facelift to produce the open and inviting feel our clients wanted. We went all the way by removing a wall, adding more breathing room for both the shower and toilet areas. This created the luxurious open concept design they needed for a more modern feel. Light colored materials made the most of both natural and artificial light sources as well. With better flow and a greater sense of space, the ensuite is now an inspiring space to start and end each day. Our clients can share the space without feeling crowded.
Bathing in Style with Modern Materials
We continued by designing and installing a customer cabinetry system that included handy pull-out pantries for organization. Fresh and modern colors were used to finish everything, combining an attractive look with the storage and functionality the clients needed. As the centerpiece, we installed a showstopping glass shower enclosure. It’s a curbless design that not only has the contemporary look we needed for the room, but also serves as a safety consideration as our clients age in place. The old jetted tub came out and was replaced with a freestanding tub with a much more elegant and sleek design. Our clients were amazed at the spa-like atmosphere we were able to create in the room.
Finally, we wrapped up the ensuite transformation with sophisticated details on the counters. We designed an expansive countertop space so our clients had plenty of room to prepare for the day, outfitting it with a matching back splash. The brushed nickel fixtures completed the room with a touch of timeless sophistication. Yet even with all these beautiful details, the design is easy to keep clean and requires minimal maintenance compared to the original ensuite.

Creating a Shared Bathroom with Practical Style
We moved on to the shared bathroom next to upgrade the experience for the guests who visited our clients’ home. Our bathroom design recommendations included dropping the traditional tub for a stylish and much more modern walk-in shower. Of course, our clients wanted this space to have plenty of personality. We paired them up with some bold and colorful porcelain floor tiles to achieve the dramatic look they wanted. We also incorporated pops of color throughout the design without the chance of overwhelming the rest of the design. The resulting look was exactly what they needed when welcoming friends and family members in for a visit.
Handling All the Hiccups with Ease
As with all of our renovation projects, we worked closely with our clients to ensure that both of their bathrooms not only looked great but were also practical and safe. For example, they discussed their ideas for a shower right in front of a large window. It would have looked great and let in plenty of natural light, not to mention Kleinburg’s scenic views. However, we explained how the condensation and splashing from the shower might affect the window and wall, leading to potential damage. We managed to create an alternative design with their input that relocated the shower while still creating the bright and airy feeling they wanted for the room.
Considering Safety When Designing for Life
They also knew they wanted the sleek look and seamless entry provided by a modern shower enclosure with linear drains. The original concept called for large tiles that had the modern look they wanted. However, we knew this could create a slippery surface when combined with the linear drains and curbless design. Creating an eye-catching herringbone mosaic on the shower floor added beauty that ties the walls and floor of the shower enclosure together. It also creates a safer and less slippery floor surface, providing a beautiful appearance while also eliminating the need for stick-on anti-slip mats that are less than elegant.
Troubleshooting these usability issues during the design stage allows us to create interiors that our clients can love for years to come. We don’t want to have to redo or redesign parts of the client’s home after they discover these kinds of issues in the process of enjoying the new space. Instead, we aim to create a design that works from the beginning by alerting you to potential problems other renovation companies fail to consider. Our designs are built to last.
The Final Reveal
Seeing the finished bathrooms is all the proof you need that good design stems from collaboration. These bathrooms aren’t just picture-perfect, they’re also highly functional and will adapt to our clients’ needs for years to come. The clients can see themselves reflected in the designs, not to mention their design for spaces that are both inspiring and comfortable at the same time. Safety features and easy-to-maintain surfaces are just icing on an already amazing cake. Check out the difference for yourself and you might just feel inspired to make some decisions about your own bathrooms. Our attention to detail is clear when you see our workmanship.
