we are actually at approximately the middle of the renovation right now and I can’t wait to show Simon what we’ve done to his house good morning Simon wait till you see what we did to your house let’s go let’s start with your second floor wow we transferred your door to this side here so now you got your smooth entrance we gave you your new closet here your hers and hers and your new entrance cut out to your on Suite great size shower this space was once a bathroom and closet yep we now expanded
00:32
it and made two bathrooms out of it we gave her her own shower with the bench I was going to ask you drain Center or drain off to the front we can figure out either way and then we got her double closet in the corner here oh this is great remains a nice siiz room nice siiz closet very functional for her by shifting that door over now we still give her perfect room for her bed your new Vanity now has a sink and bank of drawers yep and then your toilet uh the valve is on the floor we were going to move it up and put it into the wall for
01:04
you so you have a nice clean tile on the floor fantastic your chandelier here we’re just going to shift it over and further down support the Box okay for your large chandelier yep all right before we see this let’s go downstairs so you see what we actually did okay let’s take a look at what we had to do here all right to now finish what we got on the main floor so we had this big gaping hole in the floor which was once your small little footing yeah it was like maybe a quarter of the size yeah it
01:34
was 24x 24 is now 42x 42 wow this one was a lot easier than this one here that we had to tackle at three different points so we had to get in that tight crawl space wow one area there and then the second area we had to tackle here so my best friend uh and his wife actually came to visit us before the renovation and he’s actually quite Hands-On he does a lot of work himself um and so you know we were walking around the house and we described to them uh what it is that we have in mind of doing and then another
02:07
and then the third area was actually inside the furnace room wow he was very patient and listened to the whole story and then uh and then and then he said to and then he said to us Simon that’s a lot of work and and I said really and he said absolutely this was not trivial this was a lot of work yeah this is where all our all our minds come together to come up with this and now that I’m seeing the inside of it um you know I I’m I’m confirming um that that that he’s right after now let’s go
02:38
take a look at what we did up there all right Save The Best For Last here we go we actually got one of them completed so the two temp walls are actually down this is incredible so this 12T beam welded onto the foundation on that side and then over here down into that craw space where we put the new footing so all that work downstairs that goes up here presumably another one over there to support all this and give us this whole back end of the house you went from a tiny little kitchen now to twice the size when we initially visualized
03:09
what the renovation was going to be um you know of course we we we were visualizing the outcome and how it would look after everything is done but now when we’re looking you know when I just took a tour inside you know we’re we’re really going behind the walls and and underneath the uh the you know the floorings right right so I’m seeing all the new concrete paths that are being put in uh right down in the basement um the the the footing area has been actually quadrupled in size um and that’s all designed to to put um beams
03:39
that are going all the way through to support all the structures that we have upstairs so that we can actually take away to low bearing walls so the place look absolutely completely different um it’s it’s actually quite shocking you know being able to see how um you know how how everything kind of underneath and behind the curtains actually work and seeing how everything comes together uh this is actually much more meaningful than just seeing just coming in and seeing uh the finish prodct right now I
04:07
have a have a much deeper appreciation for how it was actually how it’s actually beh together where was the ex vent from before that so an animal living not it was roughly here that went straight out okay and uh you had probably three families of birds in there wow yeah these birds are clever

The Sosna Legacy House Renovation Project has reached its halfway mark, showcasing significant transformations to the property. Key changes on the second floor include a relocated entrance, a new double closet, and an expanded bathroom featuring a new vanity with sink and drawers. These updates not only enhance the functionality of the space but also improve the overall aesthetic.

On the main floor, the renovation involved major structural work, such as enlarging the foundation footing and addressing complex areas, including tight crawl spaces and the furnace room. A crucial addition was the installation of an I-beam to support the house, allowing for the removal of load-bearing walls. This structural upgrade enabled the doubling of the kitchen size, significantly improving the living space.

This mid-renovation reveal offers a behind-the-scenes look at the intricate work involved in the project. From installing new concrete paths in the basement to supporting the upper structures with beams, every detail showcases the meticulous planning and effort put into transforming the house. The in-depth view provides a deeper appreciation for the construction process, highlighting the complexity and craftsmanship behind the scenes
